Appointments to the Civil Nuclear Police Authority

(CNPA) and also three-year re-appointments for Rob Wright and Stephen Barrett.  CNPA  is the public body responsible for the oversight of the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), which provides a dedicated, on-site armed response capability for designated UK civil nuclear sites and designated movements of civil nuclear material.

Paul Kernaghan, the Standards Commissioner at the House of Lords and a former Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary, takes over from Dame Elizabeth Neville who completed her appointment as policing adviser to the CNPA on 31st December 2012.  Prior to his retirement from the police force in 2008, he was the Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary. His appointment as the CNPA’s new adviser on policing and counter-terrorism will be for three years with an annual remuneration of £17,500 based on 35 days work per year.
