Designed for those in senior management seeking promotion to the board or for those looking at developing a portfolio career with Non-Executive Director roles, ‘Getting Board Ready’ is a free webinar series by acclaimed consultant and mediator, Peter Reichwald, hosted by Diversity UK. Peter has 20 years’ experience recruiting Chairmen, Non-Executive Directors, Trustees, CEOs and members of senior management teams across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. For the last 10 years of those, he was at Harvey Nash as Director of the Board, and Not-for-Profit Practices. Since 2013, Peter has also been an Advisory Board Member of Diversity UK.

About Peter Reichwald

Peter ReichwaldPeter has 20 years’ experience recruiting Chairmen, Non-Executive Directors, Trustees, CEOs and members of senior management teams across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. For the last 10 years of those, he was at Harvey Nash as Director of the Board, and Not-for-Profit Practices

Peter is recognised as a trusted advisor to clients and candidates alike and particularly respected for bringing diversity forward. He founded Harvey Nash’s Engage network connecting business leaders from all cultural backgrounds which, together with their Inspire network and its reach to senior women, enabled Peter to increasingly bring diversity of thought to his and colleagues’ candidate lists.

Peter has, for several years, been a speaker at seminars organised by the Financial Times Board Director Programme the IoD and Boardroom Africa, where his sessions deal with the practical issues of obtaining a Non-Executive position. He receives a consistently high rating on feedback forms following his sessions.

He is now spending most of his time helping people craft their CVs, and their supporting statements which have been commended by selection panels. In addition, he uses his accreditation as a Workplace and Employment mediator, helping resolving conflicts in the workplace with a high success rate.

Before entering the recruitment sector, Peter had senior executive experience of both the private and not-for-profit sectors. He completed a ten-year term as a Trustee of World Jewish Relief and until recently chaired the Freehold Management Company for a 137-flat block on the south coast of England.

About Neil Sachdev MBE

Neil SachdevNeil Sachdev is an Independent Chair, Non-Executive Director and FTSE/AIM Director with a wide-ranging portfolio and a strong track record of corporate governance, strategy, change management and climate-change sustainability.

Most recently, Neil was appointed Chair of the East West Rail Co Board and Non-Executive Director for the LCR Property Board. Neil is also a Non-Executive Director for the Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme Delivery Authority Board and Chair of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation Board for the Ministry of Defence. Neil holds a number of public sector and Chair positions including Chair for Cake Box Holdings plc and Energy Savings Trust.

As independent Formal Council member at the University of Warwick, Neil Chairs the Warwick Business School Board and is a Governor of the Board with Nuffield Health Previously, Neil was Group Property Director of J Sainsbury and before that served for 28 years with Tesco, where he was Stores Board Director, responsible for property and operations for the UK business.

Neil was awarded an MBE for his work in relation to Energy Efficiency & Sustainability and an MBA from Stirling University which he studied part time whilst starting his career at Tesco.

He is married to Helen, who is also Chair and a Non-Executive Director whilst running her own coaching practice; they have 3 children.
