The Acceptance in Lieu Panel advises ministers across the UK on whether objects offered in lieu of Inheritance Tax are of appropriate quality, in acceptable condition and fairly valued.  It also advises on where objects, once accepted, should find a permanent home. The Panel Chair is appointed by Arts Council England following consultation with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
