Winner of the One World Media Special Award - WINNER Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, Syria

Now in their 28th year, the One World Media Awards took place at BAFTA on Thursday 16th June 2016. The awards recognise the most outstanding coverage of developing countries and the critical role of journalists and filmmakers in increasing cultural understanding and supporting equality and justice worldwide. Judges for this year included veteran foreign correspondent Anne Leslie CBE; ITV New International Affairs Editor, Rageh Omar; Polly Toynbee, Columnist for The Guardian; Mohit Bakaya, Commissioning Editor of Factual, BBC Radio 4; columnist, author and broadcaster Yasmin Alibhai Brown and digital entrepreneur Lopa Patel MBE, among others. Over 400 entries were received with the awards ceremony hosted by Alex Crawford of Sky News.
