Diversity UK welcomes two new Trustees

Diversity UK today (30th July 2019) welcomed diversity and inclusion specialist, Anne-Marie Taylor, and lawyer and international consultant, Ramesh Vala OBE, as its new Trustees. Lopa Patel MBE, formerly CEO of the charity, who takes up the reins as its new Chair said, ”I am delighted to welcome both Anne-Marie and Ramesh as new Trustees. As we mark the completion of our six year plan and the start of a new three year strategy, their advice, guidance and input will be invaluable in helping Diversity UK scale the impact of its equality and inclusion initiatives.”

Lopa also thanked outgoing Chair, Dilip Joshi MBE for the “huge contribution he has made in the foundation of the organisation and its direction for these past few years” adding that “he should be rightfully proud of his efforts in helping improve equality and inclusion in the UK.”

Diversity UK has achieved many milestones in a short period of time including:

- conducting the first survey among BAME applicants for Public Appointments
- establishing the annual Paul Stephenson Lecture on equality and inclusion
- publishing the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech list for the past 5 years

“As we enter a turbulent and uncertain time as a country, we will focus the Diversity UK three year strategy on leveraging the strength of Britain’s diverse communities and working collaboratively in embedding inclusion at the heart of our efforts,” said Lopa.
