David Lammy MP speaks to the Engage Network
David Lammy MP addressed the predominantly BAME executives at the Harvey Nash Engage Network on 5th November 2015 in London. Peter Reichwald, Director of Board Practice and Founder of the Engage Network welcomed more than 100 guests to the event and hosted the Q&A with David Lammy. Guests also heard from Christine de Largy, Chair of UK Practice Board, on their latest report ‘Meeting the Challenge: Diversity, Digitisation & Boardrooms’. Key insights from the Harvey Nash Board Research show that 53% of non-executive directors believe their boards lack the skills to tackle digital disruption, rating it as by far the most needed skill to improve board performance. This report, which collected during the Summer and Autumn of 2015, represents the views of almost 300 non-executive directors (NEDs) and chairs. Almost a third (32%) served at companies with up to 5,000 employees, while a quarter (23%) had roles at organisations with more than 5,000.
