Awards
The Trustees of equality charity Diversity UK recognise individuals driving progress on race equality in the UK with two types of award: the Diversity Champion Award for active, outstanding work in championing ED&I initiatives and the Lifetime Achievement Award for in who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment of campaigning.
Criteria for selection for these awards include equality, diversity & inclusion (ED&I) activity, for example:
- initiating and running campaigns on race equality;
- connecting campaigners and activists to funding to run campaigns;
- encouraging global cooperation;
- funding campaigns or for outstanding fundraising activities for projects;
- guiding, mentoring, coaching and supporting the next generation;
- undertaking research that provides pivotal insights on race diversity;
- visionary leadership of an NGO, CIC, charity, or not-for-profit dedicated to race equality;
- courage, determination and resilience in campaigning against institutional racism
- outstanding efforts and persistence in challenging systemic bias
- building bridges, developing pathways and devising ways to improve community cohesion
