Aleto Foundation BHM Leadership Day 2018
The Aleto Foundation held a Black History Month Leadership Day hosted by the Tri-Forces on HMS President on the banks of the River Thames at St Katherine's Dock, London, on Tuesday 30th October. The Aleto Foundation, which was created to provide significant lifetime opportunities for young people with high potential, hosts a Leadership programme and a Mentorship programme focussed on on identifying and developing the next generation of leaders from communities who have historically found it challenging to access jobs due to their backgrounds.
“We are a social mobility charity that provides ‘real world’ and practical support to young people who possess the educational foundations, mental capacity, moral foundation, confidence and humility required to inspire others to find common cause and to strive for the improvement of society at large,” stated Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE – Chair, Aleto Foundation.

About the Aleto Foundation
In 2010 a group of influential business and cultural leaders came together to create an institution which had the sole purpose of identifying and equipping young leaders with leadership skills. The newly created team of executives and trustees worked together with partners such as Deloitte and Powerful Media to begin their search for 40 young people with leadership potential, and in the summer of 2011, the first Aleto Leadership programme took place.
The feedback from the programme was overwhelming, with the delegates who took part stating how the Aleto Foundation had impacted their lives. To date, 400 young people have been served with 8,000 hours of training, with its programmes achieving a 100% completion rate. The Foundation has found a 95% rate of employment among our young people surveyed who are no longer in formal education.
