Diversity UK Global Changemakers Reception 2026
On Tuesday 7 July 2026, Diversity UK welcomed members, partners and invited guests to the Global Changemakers Reception 2026 at St James's Place, London, for an evening of thought-provoking discussion on global anti-racism, leadership and the future of equality in an increasingly uncertain world.
Hosted in collaboration with Futurum Financial Advice, the event brought together leaders from business, public policy, academia and the charity sector to explore how organisations and individuals can continue to champion diversity, equity and inclusion amid growing political and social challenges.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote address by Lord Peter Hain of Neath, lifelong anti-apartheid campaigner, former Cabinet Minister and author of Liberation and Corruption: Why Freedom Movements Fail. Drawing on more than five decades of activism and public service, Lord Hain reflected on the enduring struggle for justice, the global consequences of political corruption and how liberation movements can lose sight of their founding ideals once in power, with public resources too often diverted for personal enrichment rather than national development.
The keynote was followed by a lively Q&A, chaired by Lopa Patel MBE, Chair of Diversity UK. Questions explored the future of liberation movements, the global pushback against equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, the role of business in preventing corruption, the impact of AI and technology on democracy, and the importance of accountability in delivering justice.
The evening concluded with the presentation of Diversity UK's 14-Year Impact Report, celebrating the charity's contribution to advancing diversity, inclusion and social justice through research, policy engagement and thought leadership. Guests then continued discussions during a networking reception, reflecting the collaborative spirit at the heart of Diversity UK's Changemakers Series.
